Vipers Take 4 Game Win Streak North

VERNON, B.C.  JANUARY 10th, 2017

The Vernon Vipers head to the great white north to take on the Prince George Spruce Kings Wednesday night, to wrap up a 3 game road trip. It’s the first of 2 meetings this month between these two teams.

The Vipers come into the match-up playing their best hockey of the season. They are unbeaten in 8 games and carry a four game win streak into the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.

Their most recent victory came Saturday night in Penticton thanks to a 4-2 win. The Vipers record on the road has greatly improved in the last month as they’re finally back to .500 with a 10-10-2-2 record. In their last 5 games away from KTP the Vipers have 3 wins and 2 ties. The PK has been perfect in 4 straight games killing off 23 straight powerplays.

Prince George returns home after a 3 game island road trip that saw them take 2 of a possible 6 points. Their latest game was a 4-1 win in Nanaimo. The Spruce Kings have had a very home heavy first half of the season. They have played 25 of their first 39 games at the friendly confines and it reflects in their home ice record. 14 of their 19 wins this season have been on home ice.

The Sprucies have a general mix of veterans and younger players, but the vets have a plethora of experience as former West Kelowna Warriors, Brett Mennear and Tyler Anderson carry national championship rings. Mennear is not only the captain of the hockey team but he leads the team offensively with 30 goals and 57 points.
Look for the Jandrics to have big games as they get the pleasure of playing in front of friends and family.
