Lambert Scores Two In Win

Jimmy Lambert scored twice in the third, including a shorthanded marker, in the space of 2:21 to deliver a 6-5 comeback win at home for the Vernon Vipers over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

The ‘Backs led 3-2 after the first with Marcus Mitchell, Riley Hayles and Akito Hirose tallying while Tanner Wishnowski and Brett Stapley scored for Vernon. Mitch Stapley put the visitors up two early in the second but replies from Brett Stapley and Josh Prokop tied it going to the third.

Logan Mostat put Salmon Arm ahead again early in the third but on a ‘Backs power play in the middle of the final frame, Lambert scored shorthanded to tie it and then followed shortly after with the winner. Lambert also picked up three assists for a five-point night and was named 1st Star.
