The Vernon Vipers were unable to generate much against a very stingy Chilliwack defense and Jordan Kawaguchi scored twice as the Chilliwack Chiefs shut out the Vipers 5-0. The Chiefs scored two goals 63 seconds apart, then had one more in the second and two more in the third.
Chilliwacks goals came from Jordan Kawaguchi (39, 40), Linden Hora (8), Connor McCarthy (6) and Dennis Cholowski (9). Matteo Esposito stopped 31 shots for his 4th shutout of the season.
The Vipers return home for a date with the Surrey Eagles on Tuesday at Kal Tire Place.
