Faith Night: Vipers vs Vees

The Vernon Vipers and Penticton Vees look to cap off their season series Friday night at Kal Tire Place.  The two rivals put on quite the show at the SOEC on Wednesday going the distance to end in a 3-3 draw.  The Vipers are 2-3-1-0 against the Vees this season.

The Vipers are winless in their last two games and continue to try reel in the elusive consistency that has crept away from their game at times.  Their home record continues to loo good on paper with an 11-5-1-2 record.  They have yet to register a win at home in 2017, 0-2-1-1 and will look to right the ship with 3 games in as many days at home.  Despite the up and down play the Vipers continue to get points on a consistent basis with at least one point in eight of their last 10 games.  Head to head with the Vees its been a scoring by committee.  Jagger Williamson has a point in every game against Penticton and Niko Karamanis has tallied 4 goals.

On the Vees side of things, much like the Vipers, they’re trying to iron out injury and consistency issues.  They are also winless in their last two games and have struggled a bit away from home.  They have been very banged up on the blue line with just four regular defenseman dressed the other night in the tie.  The game tying goal was scored by Grant Cruikshank who has enjoyed playing against the Snakes with 5 goals in 6 games.  Mathew Robson has played every game against Vernon this season and that’s not expected to change as he continues to provide Penticton with steady and dependable goaltending night in and night out.
