Vees Win Game 5 IN OT

The Vernon Vipers came within an inch of winning game 5 late in regulation time but found themselves in OT for the first time this post season. An unfortunate bounce at the side of the Viper goal off the body of Nic Jones capped off a 3-2 loss at the SOEC.

The Vipers opened the scoring on a power play as Cameron Trott shot home his third of the playoffs to give Vernon a 1-0 lead. That lead was short lived as the Vees would get a power play of their own and it was Gabe Bast snapping home the tying goal just 90 seconds later. Five on five was even and after 1 it was 1-1.

Penticton took the lead early in the 2nd as Taylor Sanheim tipped home a shot just 13 seconds into the period to make it 2-1. The Vipers tied it up 4 minutes later as Jagger Williamson potted home a rebound to tie it up at 2. The Snakes killed off a crucial 5 on 3 power play and the teams would head to the dressing room deadlocked at 2.

No scoring in the third period but the Vipers had a ton of chances late to get the go ahead goal but this game was destined for overtime.

In overtime a point shot banked in off Nic Jones and the Vees would take game 5 by a 3-2 score.

Game 6 goes tomorrow night at 7pm!
