Vipers Clinch & Host PG

VERNON, B.C.  JANUARY 28th, 2017

Officially the Vernon Vipers clinched a BCHL playoff spot with their 3-1 win over the Penticton Vees but the team still has it’s sights on top spot in the Interior and helped their cause with a big 3-nothing shut-out over Nanaimo Saturday Night.

The Vipers scored three unanswered goals in the third period and netminder Darion hanson made 39 saves to earn his second shut-out this season and just narrowly missed the SO the night before. Hanson was named the games first star while Austin Adamson grabbed second star honours for his two goal performance and Niko Karamanis grabbed the 3rd star for his goal and hard work. The third period was also highlighted by a big fight between #5 Shane Kelly and #15 Sean Buchanan.

The Vipers now own a 25-15-4-4 record with 58 points and now sit just 8 points back of the Vees for top spot in the conference. Sunday the Snakes will play host to the Prince George Spruce Kings in an afternoon tilt starting at 2pm at Kal Tire Place.  You can watch all the action on HockeyTV (pay per view) or listen online by getting the link on Facebook one hour before game time.
