Vipers Name 2017-18 Captains

VERNON, B.C.  SEPTEMBER 11th, 2017

The Vernon Vipers are proud to announce the leadership group for the 2017-2018 season.

Wearing the ‘C’ this year will be local product and 4-year Viper, Jagger Williamson. The Michigan Tech commit, is a game shy of 150 in the BCHL and is coming off a career high 37 points. He wore an ‘A’ last season and was a key contributor to the leadership of the team alongside last years captain Riley Brandt. Williamson is the first local captain of the team since Dave Robinson in 2010-2011.

Joining Williamson will be Jimmy Lambert, Shane Kelly and Jesse Lansdell.

Jimmy Lambert, who returns for his 20year old season, wore an ‘A’ last season. The Saskatoon product rang up 19 goals last season. Lambert’s ability to make his teammates better is just one of the many attributes he brings to the table. His veteran presence and experience will allow him to help the talented group of younger players on the team.

Shane Kelly was an instrumental part of the team last season and has been rewarded with his hard work and dedication. On the ice, the Orchard Lake, Michigan product, had 3 goals and 9 assists. His defensive play was extremely solid and caught the attention of Air Force, where he will play next season.

Jesse Lansdell joined the Vipers in October of last season and had an immediate impact. As he learned the Viper culture and structure, his play reflected that in his ability to score and defend. The 19 year old from Langley, has had an impressive start to the season with 4 points in 2 games, but also gaining the reputation for a selfless player with a half dozen blocked shots in those games. We would like to congratulate these 4 players on wearing letters this season.
