Vipers Take Down Trail 5-1

VERNON, B.C. FEBRUARY 4th, 2017

The Vernon Vipers pulled off a big 5-1 win against the Trail Smoke Eaters as both teams are battling for second place in the BCHL Interior Conference standings. Jimmy Lambert opened the scoring midway thru the first period with a power play goal to give the Snakes a 1-nothing lead. That would be the lone goal of the opening period.

Vernon would take a 2-nothing lead on a goal from Steve Jandric. late in the second period…Jimmy Lambert would return the favour by setting up Jandric’s 24th of the season. Then in the 3rd period the Jandric/Lambert combo would connect for another pair of goals to givc the Vipers a 4-nothing lead and Austin Adamson would score one at the 13:00 minute mark to give the team a 5-nothing lead. Darion Hanson was just over 4 minutes away from locking down another shut-out but Connor Brown-Maloski would slip one past the Viper goalie.
