TRADE ALERT! Vipers Acquire Sanderson From Okotoks

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce the acquisition of forward Ben Sanderson from the Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League in exchange for defenseman Tylor Ludwar and future considerations.

The Calgary Alberta product tallied 20 goals in 50 games with the Oilers last season.

“We feel this is a good hockey trade for both teams,” says Mark Ferner, Head Coach and GM of the Vipers.  “We had a needed a forward and they were in search of a defenseman.”

Sanderson comes in committed to Colorado College.

Ferner adds, “Tylor was good for us in the pair of games he was here.  We just had an influx of defenseman and we wanted to make sure he went to a good program.”

Ben Sanderson is the son of former NHLer Geoff Sanderson.  He will join his new team this week and is expected to make his Vipers debut this weekend against Powell River.
