Vipers Defeat Surrey 3-2 In 2nd OT

The Vipers came into tonights matchup against the Surrey Eagles needing 2 points. They had dropped six in a row heading in and came out with a very strong effort, despite running into a very solid goaltending performance. They were able to get the game to overtime where an overtime goal from Odeen Tufto capped the 3-2 victory.

The Eagles led two nothing at one point with goals from Tyler Andrews (9) and Jeffrey Stewart (11) into the second period. Colton McCarthy would score his 19th on a powerplay to make it 2-1, before Joe Sacco would tie the game up shorthanded. The Vipers pushed for the go ahead goal in regulation, but Justin Laforest was outstanding stopping all 17 shots he faced in the third.

Odeen Tufto in the second overtime would score his 24th to give the home side the win. Assistant Coach Kevin Kraus speaks of the relief after the big win…

The Vipers are back at it Friday night at home against the Wenatchee Wild. Stay after the buzzer as the Vipers will hand out some hardware for players.
