Vipers host Smoke Eaters

Tonight is the third meeting of the season between the Vernon Vipers & Trail Smoke Eaters. The Vipers went 7-0 vs Trail last season.

Since the 2002-03 regular season Vernon is 66-17-1-3 vs. Trail

Since the 2003-04 regular season Vernon is 33-6-0-2 at home vs. Trail

Trails last win in Vernon was a 5-3 win on Friday, September 11th 2015

Vernon’s last win at home vs Trail was a 11-3 win on Friday, February 20th 2015

Lets take a look at the Vernon Vipers:

The Vernon Vipers are coming off a 4-3 loss to the visiting Prince George Spruce Kings Saturday. The Vipers have lost three of their last five games are playing their third game of a four game home stand. These two teams last played on September 12th with the Vipers coming away with a 5-2 win in Trail. Since the 2002-03 regular season Vernon is 66-17-1-3 vs. Trail. Vernon sits 4th in the Division are one point up on Merritt and three points back of West Kelowna & Salmon Arm.

Steven Jandric (6-6-12) shares the the team lead in goals with six while Odeen Tufto (6-10-16) leads the team lead in points with sixteen.

Lets take a look at the Trail Smoke Eaters:

The Trail Smoke Eaters make their second of three trips to Kal Tire Place, are coming off a 2-1 overtime win over the visiting Coquitlam Express Sunday. The Smoke Eaters spoiled the Vipers home opener 5-3 on September 11th will make their final visit of the season October 30th. The Smokies have just one win away from home, wich was here in Vernon on opening night. Trail has won back to back games have lost four of their last six games. The Smokies return home this weekend for a three game home stand. The Smoke Eaters have won just eight times in Vernon since the 2003-04 season. Trail sits last in the Interior Division are two points back of Merritt and three points back of Vernon.

Kienan Scott (5-2-7) leads the team in goals with five, while Nick Hallloran (4-6-10) leads the team in points with ten.
