Vipers Travel To Wenatchee (11-25-16)

WENATCHEE, WA  NOVEMBER 25th, 2016

The Vernon Vipers will hit the road for the first of 3 games in 3 days through mainland division Friday night as the head south of the border for a matchup with the Wenatchee Wild.  This is the second of three regular season meetings between these two teams with the wild holding a 6-3 victory over the Snakes back at the BCHL Showcase.

The Vipers are coming off a 2-1 victory Sunday afternoon at KTP over the Cowichan Valley Capitals.  Offense has been a bit of an issue for this Viper team of late.  They have 9 goals for in their last 3 games, but were still able to get 5 of 6 points in those games.  Where this team has shined has been defensively, allowing just 6 goals against.  Those numbers will be tested on this road trip, specifically Friday in Wenatchee against the high-octane offense of the Wild.

The Wild come in off a modest 2 game win streak with their most recent victory coming over the Chilliwack Chiefs Wednesday night.  The Wild have been airtight at home this season yet to suffer a defeat in regulation or overtime.  The Wild score a ton of goals leading the league with a whopping 131 goals for.  Wenatchee have several offensive threats, but none more dangerous than the combination of Brendan Harris and Charlie Combs who are top 2 in the BCHL in points.  Combined, the duo has 89 points.

Two new faces will join the Vipers this weekend as 19-year-old goaltender Darion Hanson and 19-year-old defender Cameron Trott will make the trip.  No word yet on whether game action will be seen by either, but both should make immediate impacts when they do.

All 3 games of this road trip can be heard on 107.5 KissFM or watched on HockeyTV.
